The triumph of the vessel over the elements is apparent in it's practical design and use. This is highlighted in the implied direction from out of frame toward the vanishing point. Still not to be over looked in the logic of causality is the pleasing highlighting effects of white foam on the wake.

This photo goes further. In it's towering structure the horizon is broken providing a subtle metaphor for the obvious result of it's trajectory, that being onward! It should also be noted that on one side there is the potential for interaction of an unidentified floating object, and on the other side in the theme of the wake is what appears to be a land mass. All these things are comforting in the face of the unknown while not taking away from the clear challenge of adventure that this picture appeals too. Even the clouds invite the subject to enjoy the clear blue sky over head, while subtly threatening weather. Like a nod of approval to arrogant speech when confidence is scarce.
